FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, is enhancing its service to better serve customers who are importing to Tokyo covering the cities of Mitaka, Musashino and Nishitokyo. Importers can now receive their deliveries one day earlier for inbound parcel and freight shipments arriving to Japan on a weekday[1].

The enhanced service applies to customers who are using FedEx International Priority® (IP), FedEx International Priority® Freight (IPF), FedEx International Economy® (IE) and FedEx International Economy® Freight (IEF) to receive their shipments from more than 220 countries and territories worldwide.
“We are constantly improving our service offerings to fulfill the growing demand of local import businesses and customers in Tokyo for more reliable delivery of parcels and freight shipments,” said Kei Alan Kubota, managing director of FedEx Express Japan. “With the anticipated growth in import value of semi-conductor electric components, electrical equipment and chemicals by 7.1%, 1.3% and 3.4% respectively[2], the shorter transit time can help Japanese customers grow their business.”
Last year, FedEx improved the transit times for packages arriving to and from select cities in Saitama Prefecture[3]. Importers can receive their deliveries one day earlier for inbound shipments arriving to Japan on a weekday. Exporters also benefit from faster deliveries to destinations around the world with the one-day reduction in transit time.
