On February 27, 2024, the milestone journey, which spanned a distance of 406 kilometres, commenced at a FedEx station in Shah Alam and concluded at a FedEx facility at Changi Airport in Singapore. The journey was completed with just a single charge in Johor. It also demonstrated approximately 100 kilograms reduction of tailpipe CO2 emissions when compared to diesel-powered vans.
“I am extremely proud of our achievement in realizing the possibilities of cross-border delivery through a more sustainable mode of transport. This signifies a major step forward in sustainable logistics. The acknowledgment from the Malaysia Book of Records symbolizes our ambition to become a pioneer in environmental stewardship and our commitment to spearhead the development of eco-friendlier logistics solutions for our customers to help meet their sustainability goals,” said Tien Long Woon, managing director of FedEx Express Malaysia. “As we see more consumers shopping online, and with sustainability factors influencing their purchasing decisions, integrating EVs into our operations will help fulfill the ever-changing preferences of our customers. “
